Nice room, comfortable bed, good location for the Clayton/UCity/Zoo area, accommodating staff and great breakfast.

I have stayed in the Cheshire many times over the years. The staff is always courteous and professional, as well as helpful whenever special assistance is needed. It is a great value for the price and I always enjoy staying there.
It’s a British/ English themed hotel, but it’s very old and needs updating. Our leather headboard had numerous spits where the faux leather was scratched off. The bathroom woodwork and door needed cleaned and painted. The mattress, well that was the worst, butt hole from just being old I guess, would not stay there again for $ 300 per night.
It was a lovely experience.

Anytime we are traveling through St. Louis we will stay at The Cheshire! It is unique, clean and staff member, Roxy is amazing!
If you are looking for an authentic English like hotel experience, this is the place to stay. The hotel staff was friendly and responsive. The entire hotel was decorated in a style we have not seen before. The plush curtains, overstuffed furniture, woodburning fires and classical music playing in the very nice and cozy lobby all contributed to a nice atmosphere. We had a wonderful breakfast with coffee and tea with fruit and snacks. Starbucks and the Barro restaurant were both great. Glad we stayed. If you want a relaxed, cozy hotel with lots of features, this is it!
It was like going back in time or visiting Europe or living in a Fairy tale Ish. I loved the stain glass window in our room, and it opened. I felt like I was staying in a castle. I plan to return.
