The cool thing about Cavalier Oceanfront Resort is that it is located right on the beach, offering stunning ocean views and easy access to the sand and waves.
The rooms are a bit dated and the location is only good if you want some seclusion but the hotel staff is nothing short of fantastic. There is nothing in San Simeon but Cambria is about ten minutes down the road and is a nice place with plenty of shopping and restaurants. The beds are comfortable and you'll spend your room time in the two comfortable chairs facing the ocean view.
Anthony, the manager, was very helpful and friendly. The on site restaurant was good and the staff was very friendly Marcella and Tuyet L.
Loved the small town historic beach atmosphere. Great restaurants, we enjoyed our stay.
Very beautiful place to stay. Very relaxing, great place for short little walks, exploring the ocean shore. Very very nice staff. They cater to your whim. Best hotel in the area.

Great view, good service, convenient location, nice restaurant.
We've been coming to Cambria for years as a quick getaway from S. CA and this year stayed at the Cavalier mainly because they accept pets, best decision we've made. The check in was quick, facility was nice and the ocean view unbelievable. Room service was very good too so all in all a wonderful stay and we'll be back for sure.
Between the pool, the firepits, the games, the terrific onsite restaurant and the beach, there is something for everyone at the Cavalier. Plus the staff there was so helpful and friendly. We’ll be back!
My husband and I were celebrating our Anniversary at your hotel and had a wonderful time. The view from our room was fantastic and we will surely be back!
The Cavalier was supposed to be a one-night stay on our road trip up to San Francisco. Instead, we opted to cancel all further plans and stay until the end of our vacation. The room was clean and comfortable. Hotel personnel couldn’t have been more welcoming and helpful. The restaurant didn’t disappoint. The ocean views were unbeatable, and the amenities made us feel like part of a community rather than just guests. We’re already planning to visit again next year, and this time, we’ll bring our fur babies too.
My wife and I have been staying here for 20 years. We bring our dogs and the beach is great to let them run in the surf. The food is good in the restaurant.
We enjoyed our stay here. Our room had an obstructed view, but the staff was very accommodating and we were able to move to a full ocean view room. Gorgeous sunsets, close to hiking and the elephant seals and their restaurant has delicious food. The room was a bit run down but clean, quiet, comfy beds and great shower. We will go back again for sure!
So relaxing, by the ocean and love that dogs can run free on the beach.
