The cool thing about Gaia Hotel & Spa Redding Ascend Hotel Collection is that it offers a full-service spa where guests can enjoy massages, body treatments, and facials.
This was the third time I’ve stayed at Gaia. The hotel is a few miles from central Redding, an easy drive and though it’s pretty much right on I 5, it’s quiet inside the rooms. (I prefer the rooms that overlook their little fountains and ponds. The hotel is undergoing extensive renovation this month, which affects the dining and registration areas. Hopefully the work will be completed soon!
GIAI is much improved from our last stay in 2024. The restrauant was excellent and the rooms have been remodeled. Good work!

It was just for the night, but we were pleasantly surprised by how thoughtfully both the property and room was designed. All we really ever want is a pristinely clean room and a welcoming comfy bed and that is exactly what we got.

Clean, safe, affordable. Overall a great place to stay. Very quiet and the pond is beautiful. Staff is friendly and accommodating. I've stayed a couple of times and it's become my "good to" when in the area.
Dump! Forget any upgrades. Dim lighting, hole in bathroom ceiling(skylight?) Heating did not work, they brought in a space heater. Side walks need pressure washing, room cleaner came in while we were out and filled counter hand soap but did not makeup beds or refresh towels; we had to request them. The initial suite that we requested, what a joke!, we went back and requested a regular room the one with no heating. The restaurant has been upgraded I’m told but the waitress could not get the drink or food order right. Run don’t walk this place is a disaster.
I enjoy the view looking out over the river.
I've stayed several times. It's just easy and for me it's one night, in and out and I appreciate the front desk staff who are always really pleasant and the restaurant as well. I didn't get a meal there this trip but it's been good.
