The cool thing about Amway Grand Plaza Curio Collection by Hilton is that it offers a full-service spa, indoor pool, fitness center, and multiple dining options, including Ruths Chris Steakhouse.
Location, location, location! Right in the heart of downtown Grand Rapids, this is a classic, old styled elaborate, sprawling hotel. The public architecture is beautiful and authentically Old World, the rooms have been upgraded quite well, maximizing the existing layout of the hotel. On site bar, restaurants, coffeehouse, several gift stores, even an old fashioned shoe shine niche. All staff were courteous, friendly, professional and helpful. The ease of skywalks to parking and performance venues is the deal closer for us.
The entire facility is modernized, but reflects days of the past. Very clean. Helpful, kind staff. We had an excellent evening rest. The breakfast restaurant was cafeteria style which was surprising. We had anticipated sit down, but no complaints as to food quality or service. In general a nice hotel to stay while visiting Grand Rapids especially due to its excellent location downtown.
Our room was fine but it was the staff that made everything better. Since using a walker, I received extra attention even the selection of my room was nearest to the elevator.
