I would definitely recommend this hotel.
Phoenix Park Hotel in Washington D.C. was very convenient to Union Station. The city is very compact, but yet not compact enough for two older people to walk everywhere. We were just across the street from Union Station where we were able to use the Metro train or bus to save us a few steps. The historic hotel was very clean and they have updated it as much as possible. The elevators are very small, but with concierge help with had no trouble getting our luggage to and from our room. We loved that the Dubliner Irish Pub was within the hotel. We were so tired each evening that we didn't want to walk another step so we ate there every night and most mornings for breakfast and the food was very good. However, there is only fast food or Wolfgang Puck in Union Station as other dinner options right around the hotel. You have to walk or use the metro 5+ blocks to get to other eating establishments. The hotel is located just down the street from the U.S. Capitol and Supreme Court and other buildings. Self Parking for the hotel is in a parking garage one block away from the hotel. The hotel does provide valet parking. You cannot drive in Washington D.C. without much time and frustration so we parked in the garage and did not move our vehicle until we checked out of the hotel. Check out was easy. The linens in the hotel were great and so was the vanity and shower space.
Front desk service always excellent. Dubliner was great as well. Handled my car and let me do a late check out. Great experience.
Wonderful quaint hotel. Comfortable, clean rooms. Friendly staff.

Expedia Group verifies all reviews to ensure that the customer has indeed booked on our site. To encourage customers to submit their reviews, we send an email containing a link to evaluate the hotel to which we sometimes attach a reduction or Expedia Rewards voucher to use on a future trip. We post all reviews whether they are positive or negative, to the extent that they respect our content directives. This monitoring is automated. Any rejection is manually checked and, if maintained, notified to the reviewer by email with reasons. We do not otherwise process changes, nor reviewer contact. We de-list reviews after 4 years, other than for properties having a non-significant number of reviews.
